Volunteers
- Approximately 109 million American adults volunteer annually - that's 56% of all adults.
- Volunteers contribute an average of 3.5 hours per week - totaling 20 billion hours with an estimated dollar value of $225 billion.
- 59% of teenagers volunteer an average of 3.5 hours per week - that's 13.3 million volunteers totaling 2.4 billion hours at a total value of $7.7 billion.
Volunteers bring more than the activities that they engage in, they bring something that is more precious in addition to their time, energy, dedication and enthusiasm. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the community. Volunteering is about commitment and caring. It's about helping others; it's about working together with others who share a common goal. It's about the difference that individuals can make in the life of the community as well as their own.
Minnetonka Christian Academy relies on volunteers every day to bring service to the students and families at our school. MCA volunteers give time, equipment, money and talent to the goal of Christian education. Each one of them makes a difference for our students.
Our doors are open, our buses are running, the computers are humming, books are distributed, air conditioners are installed, classrooms are vibrant and full of interesting things for students to discover. All because of the work of volunteers. |
