Minnetonka Christian Academy
Over the past 15 years I have had a sense about our youth. I have seen them as a huge powerful force in our society that just needed direction and opportunity and if given the chance, they would change our world. My sense has not changed so the question I ask myself is “Have I empowered our youth that they can make change?”
At the beginning of each school year I think most educators go through many of the same emotions, questioning whether we did our best for our students last year and at the same time having the desire to do more for our students this year.
We started this school year at Minnetonka Christian Academy with 127 students. 80 of those students are in grades K-8 and 47 are in the High School. We are looking forward to a great year with our returning students and 34 students who are new to MCA.
Special activities have already started. We had our first soccer match and our girl’s volleyball team has already played three games. Our elementary classes have taken field trips and we are continuing our High School special worship program on Wednesday mornings with one of our students leading out. Plans are being finalized for numerous outreach opportunities throughout the year including raking lawns in the Minnetonka community, assisting ICA with food shelf work, and Feed My Starving Children.
Certainly educating students is the primary focus of school, but at Minnetonka Christian Academy there is a very special focus on providing opportunities for our children to build and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. As the staff of MCA, we take the responsibility to provide an environment where God can have a very serious impact on our students. We solicit your prayers as we lead our kids toward being a powerful force in this world for Jesus.
