| Choose
It’s amazing how simple life can be. “Choose” is my favorite word. It simplifies many dilemmas for me. Choose to go to church, choose to go for a walk instead of watching a movie, choose to add a salad to your lunch, choose to help another, choose to open your heart to Christ, just choose. It’s easy, right?
It’s easy until your choice affects so many other people. I have recently made a difficult choice. I have chosen to cancel the fourth CHIP program scheduled to begin in January. In fact, CHIP is on hold for an indefinite period of time. This was an extremely difficult decision. I really need to focus on myself and my family for a while. The Alumni Meetings will continue, however.
But I want to leave you with some thoughts that may make a difference if you are considering improving your health. After all, Dr. Hans Diehl says, “Be healthy by choice, not by chance.” Make these choices:
- Choose to eat fruits and vegetables over processed foods.
- Walk outside, regardless of weather.
- Get enough sleep.
- “Eat something raw with every meal” Ivy Wilson
- Start your day with two glasses of water.
- Only eat foods that have nutritional value.
- “Love the food that loves you back” Ivy Wilson
- Every day, ask God to help you make healthy choices.
So now I ask that YOU make a choice. Embrace the health message provided in the Bible. Embrace your body as a gift from the Maker Himself (you resemble Him, you know. Genesis 1:26). Embrace our Minnesota weather and spend time outside daily. As you may have guessed, “embrace” is my second favorite word. Thanks for your prayers!
