We Are All Children Of God

When Pastor Keith Mosier, President of Congo Frontline Mission, preached in our church on April 10th, 2010, I found myself relating to several challenges he was talking about while growing up. As a young boy growing up in Kenya’s countryside, I could relate with several things mentioned during children story and the sermon itself. Coincidentally, those are the challenges Keith and the rest of his team are dealing with everyday. Born and grown here in Minnesota, Keith and his family answered a call to be missionaries in Congo, a call that he shared with us during his sermon.

Despite some of the challenges the Congo Frontline Missions face including the physical infrastructure like poor roads, water, electricity, etc, their determination to spread the word of God to the people of Democratic Republic of Congo is not questionable. They are doing this through church planters who go to unattended areas and giving them bibles among other things. That is why our Governing Board last month did not only voted to take this as our new ministry but through collaboration with Congo Frontline Missions, we can impact many lives. As a result, we have committed to raise $15,000 a year to help with this cause.

As we continue to explore where God takes us with this new partnership, several opportunities to help these God’s children in Congo present itself to us. Whether it is financial, materials or a call to go there and help spread the word of God even for a day, only time will tell. One thing I know for sure is that we can all as a church have something to offer.
